Gorgias Press

Gorgias Press was founded in 2001 and is dedicated to the production of high-quality, peer reviewed publications on the history, religion, and linguistics of the Middle East and larger pre-modern world. Following the philosophy, “Publishing for the Sake of Knowledge”, the Press is run for scholars, by scholars. As a purely online publisher, Gorgias Press has been able to distinguish itself through the publication of rare and understudied topics alongside more mainstream works. It has become well known for its pioneering publications in the fields of linguistics, religion, and particularly Syriac studies.

Today, the press publishes up to 75 new titles a year, including monographs, edited volumes, and journals. Gorgias Press offers discounts to institutions through its Library Affiliates Program and provides additional discounts during conferences.

Gorgias Press embraces diversity and strives for excellence in its academic publishing.
